Pole shifting

In his book „path of the pole“ the author, Charles Hapgood, proved, that the Poles over the ages changed position several times and stated, that therefore the Litosphere was shifting over the mantle of the earth causing thus the movement of the poles. But things can always be considered from two points of view:

According to the - until now not contradicted - meanig, (which I agree to) the outer strata of the earth consist of a „crust“, the „lithosphere“, containing the mountains and valleys as well as the seabed, and one assumes, that it „swims“ on a nearly „liquid“ stratum, the „asthenosphere“ which allows a separate movement of this crust!.

But the earth is not a static system, it is a highly complex one! The earth is rotating itself. The axis of the earth respective to the orbit around the sun is tilted by roughly 67 Degrees – and changes steadily!. The suns axis of rotation is tilted by approxymatively 7 degrees and its magnetic field turns every 11 years to the opposite. The orbit of the moon is tilted by nearly 5 degrees respective to the ecliptic, and also the other planets have different horizons with their orbit. The earth is subject to all their gravitation and underlies further different gyroscopic, magnetic and centrifugal - laws - and inertia.

Thus, the Lithosphere shifts over the earth mantle due to several influences, while the rotating (iron) - core tends to hold its course in the orbit, causing thus an apparent shift of the magnetic poles and the axis of rotation. But it is subject to gyroscopic effects also!

The core causes the Lithosphere to follow its rotation due to friction, but with comparatively different speed. – And even sometimes in a different direction! It is slowed down by several exterior forces. Friction of wind and weather, the tides and the gravitation of the moon respectively, influence of the suns gravitation, as it tends to attire the heavier parts of it (the Lithosphere is far from being perfectly even but rather inequilibrated, because rock and water are not equally distribuited on the surface.) I suppose that even the other planets of our system and their position relative to each other, to the sun and to the earth exert some influence with their gravitation! Maybe even currents within the core may „help“ as they are subject to the „dynamo – effect“* along with the suns magnetic field!

And last but not least the influence of passing by or the impact of spacial bodies have certainly in the past teared at the crust´s course.. Especially if the impact of an asteroid of a certain size was not strongly perpendicular and „centering“, but a little „offside“- (the earths speed on its course is around 107000 km/h, the whole System with the sun itself moves additional with about 900000 km/h, and average asteroids reach 100000 km/h) - While still the core tended always to hold his track!.

But not without having been influenced too!

With a toy, a childrens gyroscope, you can easily experiment the sort of effects on the earths core, caused by different disturbings!. A gyroscope is mainly used to hold it´s course with navigtion – systems, - if freely suspended in a „cardanic system“ – but has to be adjustet from time to time!. Even only the wheels of a bycicle prevent the whole thing from falling – only if not „disturbed“!

But the rotation of the gyroscope itself produces counter movements! The outer frame of the mentioned thing begins to turn, slower as the gyroscope itself, because there act several forces on it. The friction tends to take it along, but the „reaction – force“ tries to turn it in countersense. (Compare please with a sliding lithosphere on the core of the earth!) Then the whole gyroscope wobbles – the more the rotation is slowing down and the axis relative to the gravitation, eg. the direction of suspension is tilted (Compare please with the „wandering“ of the magnetic pole, not to mention the so called „precession“ of earths rotation). – And if you touch it or if any other disturbing occurs, the whole thing tilts. (according to the „Euler-Formula“). And that with considerable speed and momentum! So, if any forces as mentioned above disturb the rotation, even the core of the earth is due to behaving erratically! And tilting rather fast!

Thus in the past, a pole – shifting – no; even a pole - jump! - may have occured easily several times! And could occur again! With considerable speed also!

Hence according to the physical laws, in a rotating „ball“ with a heavier core like the earth, the both of them behave different under influence of outer forces! And the heavier core of the earth is it, that determinates as well the magnetic field as the axis of rotation!

It is clear, that the entire Lithosphere did`nt support such stress always as a whole, it cracked, and formed therefore the continental clods. But these clods don`t move by themselves; they move like ice floes on a river on a moving asthenosphere. Nevertheless, the whole litosphere was due to „shift“ sometimes – compared with the core and the poles respectively!

Zones of different pressure in the assumedly liquid outer core or vortexes in the magma, maybe even currents within the mantle - could then well cause the breaking out of volcanoes through the crust at weaker points and – while the core moved on – create thus volcanic mountain chains. The Hawaian – archipel for example follows an arc in a diagonal direction as if there the core had moved on from outbreak to outbreak! Statistics show further a trend, that vulcanoes pop up mainly where tectonic slabs meet, and that mostly where they converge, e.g. press together, or especially where they push beneath each other. I suppose the edges of these clods exert some pressure on the asthenosphere, therefore causing the magma from beneath to squeeze out more easily. Examples are the whole Japan – Kurile – arc, the Philippines, Sumatra up to Java, The west coast of both the Americas, etc. – even Italy´s westcoast. The diverging faults „produce“ far less volcanic – and seismic - activity, (but for example in Island and especially where diverging slabs are not so far, as in the „Philippine – sea“). In the center of the slabs seismic activity and vulcanoes seems to be much more scarse – statistically. But It shows clear to me, that a shift of the litosphere or the core respectively must lead to an increasing seismic activity. And viceversa an augmentation of earthquakes and vulcanoes could be an indicator for such changings going on!

There is also the question: why is´nt the pole the pole? E.g. in a „man made“ build system it would be obvious, that the magnetic pole of a turning magnete shuld be identical with its axis of rotation! (The magnetic field of the planet - and the sun - is believed to be due to the „dynamo effect“ e.g. created by rotation of liquid metal and plasma*). With the earth, it is not! The magnetic pole is still wandering around even nowadays. As for me, that could be a further indication, that the axis of the earth-core is well on the magnetic pole. But if it „tilts“, the axis of rotation of the Litosphere - the momentarily so called „geographical“ pole - follows his own momentum! This „geographic“ pole, e.g. the axis of rotation of the earths surface in confront to the greenwich orientated grid, changes! Not much at the very moment, but enogh to see, that the whole system is in constant movement!

* To this dynamo effect of the earths outer core I attribute also the heathing of the earth in some way I can´t yet explain. I do not believe, that the internal warmth of the earth is due to radioactivity, but rather that the earths rotating magnetic field interacts somehow with the magnetic field of the sun. The resulting electric currents may warm up the earth like an ordinary electrical resistivity!.

As stated in another Publication (sorry, only in german) I further hold the theory, that once the earth had rotated faster because it was smaller and because of the 2nd. Thermodynamic law, and also that its orbit ported nearer around the sun, because the sun loses material (4 mio. Tons / sec.), which radiates in form of energy into the space.. Thus for ages steadily diminuishing its gravitation forces. And so slowing down earths speed! As this might have had less influence of pole shifting by itself, it may have had well some influence on the „wobble“ or precession of the axis!
